Description
Donald R Burgett, a Screaming Eagle Paratrooper, returns to Normandy, Holland, Bastogne Belgium, Germany and Austria 62 years after D-Day. He documents and narrates the accounts of his unit's actions in WWII as he recalls it, giving credit to the men who served with him throughout the war, both living and dead. All happenings are true and historically correct, to the best of Burgett's memory. The 101st Airborne was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation for their heroic actions.
Description
Germany & Austria, part IV: "Burgett returns to Hitler's Eagles Nest high in the Alps of Germany, revisiting memories of the final days of Hitler's Third Reich. While there, Burgett visited Dachau and returns to the concentration camp at Landsburg. Where, Hitler with the aid of Rudolph Hess, wrote 'Mein Kampf' while imprisoned there before he took power. Burgett ends his return visit in Austria where he and his comrades spend their last days together before returning home"--Container.
